Privacy Policy for ISS Distance Tracker

Last updated: January 2026

Data We Collect

This extension collects your approximate location (via IP address) to calculate distance to the International Space Station. We also cache ISS position data and notification timestamps locally.

How We Use Data

All data is stored only on your device using Chrome's local storage. We use it to:

• Calculate real-time distance to the ISS
• Send proximity notifications (when ISS is within 800km)
• Reduce API calls through caching

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party.

Third-Party APIs

We call these read-only APIs:

• whereistheiss.at (ISS position)
• ipwho.is / ipapi.co (IP geolocation)

These receive only standard HTTPS request data.
